The controls in the oil field are no different than those in many other industries. They control pressure, flow, level and temperature.

If you are a qualified instrument engineer, you should be able to move into the oil field and have little problem adapting.

One entry point for such work is with a firm that supplies instruments and service to the oil field. You might want to contact companies such as Fisher Controls, Honeywell or Mason Neilan.I want to work in oil field what i need to learn?
you need to know how to put the right instruments in the right place. how they work. e.g. where to put flowmeteres, what type of flometeres depends of the cost and other criteria of the project. pressure gages and termometers are essensial as well...etc

Call them, they send their applicants to an oil field school and then they put them to work.
Start with vegetable oil and work your way up to olive oil. Soon you will be moving on to corn oil and canola oil. Use your ';instrument engineering'; experience to make the transition.
