Im trying to apply for jobs involving the oil industry down in new mexico, but everyone wants experience!! I dont have experience in the oil fields. How did people get into it in the first place?? Does anybody have any info on getting into it??How do you get in the oil field work?
you dont want to do that is baaaaaadHow do you get in the oil field work?
right now the oil business is flat..The exploration for natural gas and crude are being driven down by the relative low price of crude per barrel .In Texas oil production is low because the price is low..For a guy to start doing work in the OIL field right now you might have to stand in line behind people with 15 yrs of experience . The best bet that I could get on finding a job though would be in the Houston to Midland area of Texas. there are lots of people hiring roughnecks and field electricians. Just the other day I was in Lubbock Texas At TEXAS Tech and the outskirts of town were littered with the skeletons of oil/gas drilling rigs ..It was a really disheartening site. When nat gas and gasoline prices go back up a little and i'm positive they will be primed for the boom that will be in the east texas area around henderson and lufkin. There are well sites there with no well on them that have been there for 2 years waiting on an investment rig. Well the forecast for oil might be better but I'm SURE it will get better as the summer goes by..Well there ya go From the E..
Try an apprenticeship?
