What should I pack when going to work in oil field?

Husband leaving soon to work in oil field. Don't know what to expect. We're told laundry, cooking and cleaning is provided for 7 day on, 7 day off 12 hour shifts, any input will be appreciated.What should I pack when going to work in oil field?
where exactly is he going...up to Alaska? I actually lived up there with some oil drillers. Sounds like he is going to be living in a ';compound'; like I did....if so he does not need much, they supply food, house keeping, entertainment (free movie theater), basketball court, gym, library (although not a great selection-bring books if he likes to read), game room (pool tables, etc.) A ipod or walkman might be a good idea, or some dvds and portable dvd player. Think pretty much everything else will be provided for him.What should I pack when going to work in oil field?
Toiletries, DVD's and advil. The drilling companies usually supply everything else.





Don't pack any ';sissy'; DVD's like ';Bridges of Madison County';. Make sure it is MAN's-MAN movies!
