How is oil transported from the oil field to the refinery and what are the risks associated with these?

Can anyone answer this.. ?How is oil transported from the oil field to the refinery and what are the risks associated with these?
The risks are generally more political than environmental these days...although accidents do occur.

Oil is typically transported via pipeline to the loading dock. Pipelines can crack, break, or (especially in unsettled areas of the world) be sabotaged.

After loading, the oil is pumped onto a tanker. Tanker ships can run aground (Exxon Valdez), encounter heavy weather, or (especially these days) be seized by pirates.

The oil is then unloaded and sent by pipeline to the refinery. Generally this end of the journey is low-risk as most oil refineries are in stable countries. However, refineries themselves are subject to fire and explosion--all that petroleum is highly flammable, after all.
