My husband works as a stabber on a casing crew and he hasn't been called out for two weeks now and its never been this slow before. Will it pick back up again and will the rigs come out of the weeds any time soon. I'm getting worried right now and thinking maybe the oil field jobs are done for good.Is the oil field gonna pick back up and be busy again in 2009?
Oil patch jobs are not gone for good. What is killing the drilling business right now is the low price for natural gas....we need a cold winter and/or the economy to pick up and raise the demand for gas. Hang in there - I know things are tough. I've been in this business since 1975 and have seen lots of ups and downs while working for 8 different companies as a geologist. If possible, maybe your husband could use this slack time to get some more education - God Bless and Good Luck
